Monday July 2nd, Resident DJ Steve Marsden will be mixing his vast collection of music and videos in the Wave Bar, a no cover event.

The Party returns to Paramount on Tuesday July 3rd with DJ sensation Joe Gauthreaux, a Provincetown favorite.

On Wednesday July 4th, join the crowds Poolside, for the BIGGEST party of the summer as the doors open early to watch Provincetown’s waterfront fireworks display and dance to the beats of Grammy nominee & Resident Alegria’s, DJ Abel.

Thursday July 5th marks the return of DJ Manny Lehman, so jump off the boat and dance the rest of the night away with us at the Crown!.

The week’s grand finale will feature a “new twist”on Friday July 7th in Paramount Nightclub.

DJ Gustavo Scorpio of Brazil will man the decks for our Beardependance Party a perfect fit to transition from our Circuit week to Bear Week 2012.

Father’s Day 2011

The modern use of the word mentor:
A trusted friend, counselor or teacher, usually a more experienced person

Without others to follow & learn from, life would be so much more challenging

FYI: Father Day is Sunday (public service announcement)
My Father turns 82 on Saturday – simply amazing.

I see my Father daily in my mind.
I attempt to channel him when I can.
He created a wonderful family and life for the Nelson clan w/ my Mom.
Not the perfect family; they do not exist
My Father is the most trusting, honest, hard-working & loving man I know.
He shows this thru his daily activities & how he takes care of Mom & my brother and sister.
He still mows the Lions Park in Merrifield, MN + fixes furnaces & anything else their church needs.
He runs around w/ a bunch of other 80 something men, who have lived full lives & raised families of their own.
Dad will take in information, process it & then carefully word or make a response
I am still working on being like that
I am too quick to respond
Character flaws – I have plenty of them

Mentors share experiences, so others can skip the many potholes life has in our paths
Obviously we need or will learn from them & move as per each our own ways

To agree to disagree ~ it is part of the process
Communication is key

I love my Father & am thankful he is still amongst us

I happen to know that a lot of people from the LGBT knock themselves out so the rest of you have memories that last a lifetime or @ least a few days, given the way some of you parlay/play your weekend.
Please acknowledge & thank the people you see along the parade route, the rally, the Pridefest, The two dances
They are ALL volunteers ~ including my office
For 12 months they work w/ the city to get better places & situations
NYC is not easy
Permits & assorted things make this very challenging for Heritage of Pride
This may be the last dance on Pier 54
There are plans to tear it down and build a new one (and we all know its long overdue)
The parade is shorter in length ~ so no excuses!
The Rally is in Central Park!

I was in Southold Long Island this past weekend w/ a friend.
I am allergic to shell fish & do not drink alcohol.
Southold & Greenport are in the middle of wine country & sea food ~ I still gained weight
I spent some of the time to get my head on straight (never in this lifetime will that happen btw) it was raining buckets, so no beach time. Still got color thanks to Future Tan on Greenwich.

I came home Sunday night & found that a longtime friend & business associate had past away.

As many of you know my dearest friend & business partner, Stephen Heighton, passed away this past Saturday.
It would be impossible for me to thank each of you individually who have sent me messages of support for me & of your love for Stephen. I will be forever grateful.

There will be a gathering of Stephen’s friends to honor & remember him.

Stephen actually lived in my building in Chelsea, so I was fortunate enuff to see him fairly often ~ his warmth & quick smile always enhanced my day.
He celebrated life & his enthusiasm was inspiring

I was suppose to go to Anoka high-school.
The Nelson Clan lived in the middle of nowhere
You know that place.
It is between the boon-dogs & soybean fields for as far as the eye can see, w/ a hint of cow manure floating thru the air.
Barn cats, gophers (Minnesota), bears (I never saw one), apple pie (It is early as I write you, and my sweet tooth is screaming)

We happen to live on the opposite side of the hiway; so we (the country kids) were shipped 20 miles away (segregation) to an elementary school in Brooklyn Park, MN
We left in the dark (an hour + bus ride) & returned in the dark (same bus ride) from October til mid-March.
The majority of kids @ Edgewood Elementary were town kidz.
They had Little League, Ice Hockey Teams, paved roads to ride their banana seat bikes.
We had cows, dirt paths & 4-H (Head, Heart, Hands, Health (pledged by members of 4-H Clubs)
My 4-H Club consisted of all girls & me.
Shut-up!
Yes; basically ALL girls
We had County & State Fairs
I have the Blue & even Purple (outstanding achievement) ribbons still.
4-H was to build our character.
I believe it was an excuse to get rid of the kids for a few hours a week & @ various times: 4-H Camp
We wore hand-me-downs & JC Penney plain pockets & Sears Tuff Skins
The town kids wore Levi & Lee Jeans
Where was Lady Gaga?!
Could have used a bit of Born This Way; instead of trying to be part of the clique ~ which as you know the harder you try to belong; the more resistant the popular kids keep you out.

Do I feel an affinity to Michelle because we are from the same area? Hell NO!
I do not care how many foster kids she raised.

She also hails from my home country, which just TODAY got their government back up & running.
